When I was growing up, sloppy joe came from a can. It was cheap, fast….and not very good. When I became an adult, i sort of despised the things. I refused to make them for my family. That was, until I tried sloppy joes from a local restaurant. Now, I didn’t love their version either, but I remember it being better than the canned stuff. My husband is a huge fan of them. I just knew I could make them better. Laugh all you want, but I want to be the one that makes my husbands favorite dishes, not Dona down at the dinner.
After a few failed attempts, I finally made something our whole family loved. And that, is how this recipe came to be. There is another dish that has been handed down through my family (that will be posted later) that has a few of the same ingredients in it, so I kind of had a taste in mind.
This sloppy Joe recipe is the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. It isn’t as easy as warming up a can of something BUT, I do believe it is rather simple.
